Agreement to terms

By accessing signalgist.com or using any Signalgist service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our website or services. “You” refers to you and, if applicable, the business you represent. “We,” “us,” and “Signalgist” refer to Signalgist, operated from Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

Services overview

Signalgist provides local search services for local businesses: video marketing that helps you get found on Google and in AI answers, plus Google Maps SEO (local SEO). Our services include:

• Free Google Maps audit: A review of publicly available information about your business, including your Google Business Profile, reviews, map rankings, and website, delivered at no cost and with no obligation.
• Google Maps setup (one-time): Optimization of your Google Business Profile, local website improvements, directory listing review, and review-request setup, as described in your written scope.
• Local SEO care (monthly): Ongoing map ranking tracking, review monitoring and replies, Google Business Profile posts, and monthly reporting, as described in your written scope.
• Free visibility snapshot: A review of publicly available information about who Google, Maps and AI assistants recommend in your area, delivered at no cost and with no obligation.
• Local video visibility (monthly): Research into the questions your customers ask, filming at your business, editing, publishing to your social channels and a separate video site, and a monthly report, as described in your written scope. Price depends on the number of videos per month and is confirmed in writing after your snapshot.

Services are subject to platform compatibility and scope confirmation before payment. Pricing is quoted in writing after your free audit or snapshot.

No guarantees of results

Signalgist improves your local search presence and the technical foundations of your website. We do not and cannot guarantee any specific outcome, including but not limited to:

• Improved search engine rankings or visibility
• Any specific position in Google Maps or Google’s local results
• Inclusion in AI-generated recommendations or answers
• Increased website traffic, leads, or revenue
• Specific placement in any search engine, AI tool, or directory

Search rankings, map rankings, and AI recommendations depend on many factors outside our control, including your content, reviews, reputation, competition, the searcher’s location, and the proprietary systems of third-party platforms. Our services address the factors within reach, which are some of many.

Free audits and checks

The free Google Maps audit and the free visibility snapshot are reviews of publicly available information. It does not require any login credentials or website access. Submitting the form constitutes a request for review, not an instant automated scan. We may contact you by email to deliver results and discuss our services. The free check does not create any obligation to purchase.

Paid services and payment

For Google Maps setup and Local SEO care:

• We confirm scope and price in writing before you pay.
• Setup payment is due before work begins. Local SEO care is billed monthly after activation.
• You may cancel Local SEO care at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, unless your written scope says otherwise.
• Work outside the written scope, such as website redesigns, new content campaigns, or paid advertising, is quoted separately.

For local video visibility:

• We confirm scope, number of videos per month and price in writing before you pay.
• Billing is monthly. You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, unless your written scope says otherwise.
• Work outside the written scope is quoted separately.

Website access

If you hire us for the paid service, you agree to provide the minimum access necessary for us to perform the agreed work. We ask you to create a temporary administrator account for our use rather than sharing your personal credentials.

We agree to:

• Use your website access only for the agreed scope of work
• Create a restore point before making changes
• Remove or downgrade our access promptly after completing the work
• Not access, modify, or copy content beyond what is necessary for the agreed service

For Google Maps services, you add us as a manager on your Google Business Profile. You remain the owner and can remove our access at any time. We use this access only for the agreed work and do not change your ownership settings.

You are responsible for ensuring you have authority to grant us access to the website and Google Business Profile and to authorize the agreed changes.

Backups and liability for website changes

We create a backup of your website before making any changes. If our changes cause a problem, we will use that backup to restore your site to its prior state at no additional charge. Our liability for website changes is limited to restoring your website to its pre-service condition using the backup we created.

We are not responsible for issues caused by your own subsequent changes, third-party plugins or themes, hosting provider failures, or events outside our control.

Intellectual property

You retain ownership of all your existing website content, branding, and business information. We retain ownership of our tools, processes, scanning systems, and report templates. The specific report and data we generate for your business is yours to keep and use.

If we install any Signalgist-developed code on your website (such as a plugin or script), we grant you a non-exclusive license to use it on that website for the duration of your service agreement. We may remove or update Signalgist-managed components as part of our service.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Provide false or misleading business information for us to include in your website’s structured data or Google Business Profile
• Ask us to post fake reviews, or to offer customers incentives for reviews in violation of Google’s policies
• Use our services to misrepresent your business, services, location, or qualifications
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute our scanning tools or proprietary systems
• Use our website or services for any unlawful purpose

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Signalgist’s total liability for any claim arising from or related to our services shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, regardless of the theory of liability.

Disclaimer of warranties

Our services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that our services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific results will be achieved.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Signalgist, its owners, and its contractors from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your use of our services, your violation of these terms, or your provision of inaccurate business information.

Refund policy

If we have already collected payment and cannot perform the agreed work, we will refund your payment in full.

Once implementation is complete and your report has been delivered, one-time setup fees are not refundable. Monthly fees (Local SEO care and local video visibility) are not refundable for the current billing period after cancellation.

Modifications to services or terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of our services at any time. For active monthly subscribers, we will provide at least 30 days’ notice before discontinuing a monthly service.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or our services shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Charleston County, South Carolina. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Entire agreement

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Signalgist regarding your use of our website and services. Any pre-purchase scope confirmation we provide supplements these terms for the specific engagement described.
